“Our “WHY” for our Nutrition Program”

            Everything we do here at Fire + Ice CF west is to improve the quality of health for anybody who walks through our doors—any age and in any health state.  We believe that a healthy mind, body and spirit is true optimal living and we believe, it all starts with Nutrition.  We understand there’s an uphill battle in our health industry, with 70% of people in our nation dying from chronic diseases.  The common fault to the lot of these chronic diseases is rooted from poor nutrition habits.  That’s the problem—poor nutrition habits.  But that’s also where the solution lies… that’s where we come in.  CEO of CrossFit, Greg Glassman said it best, “Off the carbs and off the couch”.  Our “WHY” for our Nutrition program is to provide clear, easy and honest services teaching healthy eating for optimal living.

We understand there’s so much conflicting and confusing information out there, with all the fads and quick-fix diets, and so, we the specialists, are here to clarify it all and lead people to the right path.  Everybody is different.  What ‘diet’ may work for one person, may not work for another.  Let’s clarify what became the dirty word, “diet”.  Diet, by definition means; a habitual way of eating by an animal, human or a community.

            When changing your diet, or a way of eating, it is important to seek out a professional for guidance.  The understanding of nutrition is ever evolving and nutrition leaderships are gaining better and more knowledge upon the subject every year.  CrossFit Health is cracking down on the current health system and highlighting everything wrong with it, starting with systems like the Food Pyramid.  Turns out, having carbohydrates as our main intake is waaaay ass-backwards, making our people sicker and sicker every year.  Fire + Ice CF west along with many other CrossFit affiliates are here to change that.

            Fitness alone cannot tip that unbalanced scale.  Yes, fitness—varied intense activity—is a necessary component to health, but without proper nutrition, optimal health cannot and will not be achieved.  That goes for optimal fitness seeking athletes too, nutrition is the lifeline to all health goals. It is the Yin to the Yang of Fitness.
